Joint Seminar for Launching Research Cooperation and MOU Signing

Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS), Busan (South Korea), 

Center for Research in Islamic Sciences and Civilization (CRSIC) in Laghouat, Algeria 

Seminar Schedule : 5:00 pm. (time of South Korea), 9:00 am. (time of Algeria)  

Moderator :  Prof. Mona Farouk M. Ahmed, Director, Center for North African Studies.


On Thursday, June 15, 2023, the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS) and the Center for Research in Islamic Sciences and Civilization (CRSIC) in Laghouat, Algeria, held a Joint Online Seminar to launch their research cooperation. The seminar brought together researchers from both institutes to discuss future collaborations. The event commenced with welcoming speeches from Prof. Yoon Yong-Soo, Director of IMS, and Prof. Ahmad Ben Seghir, Director of CRSIC. 

Prof. Mona Farouk, Director of the Center for North African Studies (CNAS) and the seminar's moderator, provided a brief introduction about IMS and CNAS. The Seminar concluded with a ceremony where the directors of IMS and CRSIC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The purpose of the MOU agreement is to expand the Institute's network in North Africa, foster the exchange of academic activities, and encourage research cooperation. The agreement encompasses various areas of partnership and mutual collaboration.
